Tips for a Healthier You this New Year

The new year is finally here and it is time to make a New year’s Resolution! 

This year I encourage you to pick a New Year’s resolution that is meaningful but also doable.

So many times, I have fallen into the trap of creating a resolution that is unachievable. But if we pick a realistic resolution, we set ourselves up for success from the start. 

And let’s face it, after making it through the stress of 2020, I think we all could use the boost of achieving a goal!

This year my focus is all about improving my overall health and wellness. Below I will offer up some ideas of small resolutions that can help make your 2021 healthier and happier!

Drink More Water

According to the Mayo Clinic, the appropriate water intake per day is about 15.5 cups a day for men and 11.5 cups for women.

I love this resolution because it is so easy to implement into your life. One suggestion to help you achieve this resolution is to start your day off by drinking a glass of water first thing when you wake up in the morning.

Stretch Every Morning

Flexibility can help protect the body from injury and reduce aches and pains. It is an important aspect of overall health that is often overlooked.

Stretching every morning can help increase flexibility and lead to a healthier you. If you are not sure where to begin when it comes to stretching, here is a helpful video from MadiFit.

Eat More Greens

It’s no secret eating vegetables is good for you. However according to TIME in 2017, less than 10% of Americans are eating the recommended number of vegetables per day.

How many vegetables should you be eating in a day?

It is recommended for adults to eat 2-3 cups of vegetables per day. To help reach this goal, I recommend adding more vegetables to your breakfast every morning. At least for me, this is where I often lack vegetables in my meals. Another easy tip is to add VIIVA’s Organic Green Power to your daily routine. Get Enough Sleep
